This year the Mini In The Mountains (MITMS) team is mixing things up.  The venue has been changed to Winter Park Resort.  This venue is going to be incredible.  Monday night I saw some Summer time pictures of the resort.  The drive to get there is thrill on it’s own.  It’s 20 miles of tight hairpins.

Look for more information from the promotions team.  Oh yeah, I’ve been recruited for that team so you’ll see a ton of updates here.

Today was the Clubman’s first oil change and dealer service. While waiting I had a look around at Ralph Schomp.

Check out these 17″ R108s. They look tremendous is black. Kind of an expensive winter rim, but they would be epic.

I didn’t pull the trigger. $2,000+ worth of wheels would not sit well with the bride.

I did however pull the trigger on some primered mirror caps. They were a little pricey, but I’ve been searching for some used placements for about three months with no luck. I have chrome caps now, and they are just a little too much on my car.

I have not decided what color to paint them. I am leaning toward flat black. That would match up with my winter, flat black, S-lites.

What color do you think I should I paint them?

The ceremony involved groundbreaking with shiny shovels, (I really need one of these, somehow I think digging would be much easier with it), and a ribbon cutting with ginormous scissors.  After a quick parade around Centerra there was cake and a raffle.  By the way John, you won a stainless license plate frame.  Maybe your luck is looking up.

John showed up a little later after getting his new NM Engineering exhaust installed.  I must say it looks and sounds great.  Although some of the excitement may have been a little overshadowed by some misfortune for John during his drive up.  I’ll let him expand on that.

Ralph Schomp Mini in Englewood Colorado hosted a Clubman unveiling this afternoon. I had been to the dealership a few times already, but never with such fan fair. They rolled out the red carpet for us, literally. No…they really had a red carpet.

I arrived around 11:30. Really just to check out the spread. I was starving and wanted to know if I needed to grab something before the noon unveiling. When I arrived Schomp was laying out a array of “Club” sandwiches. Knowing the food was there…I decided not to stuff my face until after the noon showing.

Pictures of the Clubman have been all over the forums and even some other blog reviews have been posted already. The actual viewing was less climactic because of this. Still nice to see one up close and in person though.
